Micro Soccer

Updated Saturday January 26, 2019 by Waxhaw Soccer.

Micro Soccer provides an introduction to the game of soccer in a positive, engaging, and non-competitive atmosphere.  At this level, our youngest players learn basic soccer skills while developing their gross motor skills and coordination. Players are encouraged to have multiple touches on the ball through fun skill-building games. They are introduced to soccer while making new friends and most of all, having FUN!

Practices & Games

Micro teams generally have one practice per week with their Coach. If you have any practice time conflicts, please note those in the comment sections during the registration process. Team requests are considered but not guaranteed.

Saturday mornings will be a practice and end with a game.  We schedule 8 games per season.

All practices and games are held at H.C. Nesbit Park behind Kensington Elementary School.

Games are played 3v3 and consist of four 8 minute periods.

Equipment Needed

The registration fee for the micro program covers the cost of a team t-shirt.  The rest of the uniform consists of black shorts and black soccer socks that you will need to purchase on your own.

Each child will also need shin guards and a size 3 soccer ball at each practice and game.  Cleats are not required but are highly recommended.

For the Fall 2018 season we have a sponsor that has made it possible to offer this program to our community at no cost to our families.

The fee for the Spring 2019 season is FREE

Coaches at this level are volunteers.  They willingly give of their time and energy to our young players.  In return for their efforts they receive our appreciation, memories made with their children and a group of smiling faces.  Please consider becoming a coach and indicated your interest during registration.  You will be contacted.
