Below are some of the most frequently asked questions pertaining to our Recreational & Competitive Soccer Programs.  If you don't find the answer to your question here, please don't hesitate to contact the appropriate commissioner (under Contact us).

Q:  My daughter and her friend would like to play on the same team.  Is this possible?

A:  We make every effort to honor parent requests, but can not make guarantees.   Please enter your request in comments section during the registration process and we will do the best we can.  


Q:  My child already has a commitment on Tuesday nights but he really wants to play soccer.  Can he be placed on a team that doesn't practice on Tuesdays?

A:  Team practice days and times depend on coach and field availability; however, we make every effort to honor parent requests.  Please enter your schedule conflicts in the comments section during the registration process and we will do the best we can.  


Q:  Online registration has closed but I would like to know if I can still register my kids to play?

A:  Some divisions may be full and other divisions may have open slots.  Send us an email and we will see if we can accommodate you.


Q:  I registered my child to play but he has changed his mind.  May I get a refund?

A:  Refunds are only issued for requests made BEFORE teams are assigned for a season.  Once rosters are published, no refunds will be issued.  Prior to publishing, there will be a minimum of a $25 administrative fee withheld and a maximum equal to the administrative fee plus costs already incurred by the association (ie. league registration fees, uniform fees, etc.)


Q:  Registration is closed but I have not heard from a coach.  What should I do?

A:  Because of the last minute flood of registrations, rosters are made the week after registration closes.  If you have not heard from a coach and practices should be starting, please let us know.  


Q:  How do I get a season schedule?

A:  With our new website, schedules for your family will be available to view through your Parent Profile.  Once the schedules are finalized for each of your children's activities, all you have to do is login to your account.  


Q:  What is your weather cancelation policy?

A:  There are several factors that we take into account - current weather, forecasts and field conditions.  

Because our N.C. weather is often sporadic, we try to wait as long as possible to cancel practices and games.  The Soccer Board will make the determination by 4:30pm on practice days.  On game days, the determination will be made by 8:00am on Saturdays and by noon on Sundays.  

Field closure notifications will be made to coaches and members via email.  If this is not the preferred method for contacting you, please let your coach know.  An alert will also be present on our Waxhaw Soccer Club homepage indicating any field closures.


Referees can also make a final decision at game time.


Q:  Do you offer financial assistance?

A:  Waxhaw Soccer Club and Waxhaw Athletic Association offer financial assistance to those who qualify.  Please look for the Financial Assistance application under the Downloadable Forms & Files Menu option.
